Abernathy, Toria Elizabeth (nee Strong)
Toria Elizabeth Abernathy, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 8, 1915, at Burfordville, daughter of John and Emma Henderson Strong. She and Glenn William Abernathy were married March 9, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
Abernathy was a member of Cape First church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Wayne, Edgar and Clyde Abernathy of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
