PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William J. "Bill" Adams, 86, of Perryville died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. William J. "Bill" Adams, 86, of Perryville passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at The Missouri Veterans Home in Cape. He was born May 16, 1927 in Carlinville, ILL, the son of William J. Adams, Sr. and Lon Alfrey Adams.
He and Ivan Jean Robinson were married on August 12, 1950 at St. Mary’s Seminary.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Jean Adams of Perryville, Four Daughters: Barbara &(Ed) Zahner of the Springfield, MO area; Brenda &(Joe) Bahr of Perryville; Bev &(Mack) Chronister of St. Louis and Bonnie &(Tom) Kraenzle of Ste. Genevieve, Nine Grandchildren: Mike Zahner, Ronnie &(Chanda) Zahner, Dan &(Nanci) Zahner, Nathan Bahr, Adam &(Michell) Bahr, Shannon Milliano, Lauren Milliano, Emma Kraenzle, Ella Kraenzle,
Five Great grandchildren: Brianna Zahner, Danielle Zahner, Kimberly Zahner, Owen Bahr, and Olivia Bahr.
Bill joined the Merchant Marines in 1942. He then served in the Army and was discharged on 1948. He was a WW II Veteran.
Bill was a truck driver for many years before retiring from Mississippi Lime Kiln after 24 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW and a long-time member of the County Saddle Club. Bill enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting, camping and riding rein over his four girls.
Visitation will be from 5-9:00pm on Tuesday, May 13 at Miller Family Funeral Home in
Perryville. Parish prayers at 5:30PM; VFW Service at 6:00pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, May 14 from 6:30am- 10:50am. The rosary will be recited at 10:00am at the funeral home. Funeral Mass at 11:00am Wednesday, May 14 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate. Memorials preferred to Southeast Hospice.
