Allen, Myrtle Mae (nee Seabaugh)
Myrtle Mae Allen, 102, of Alhambra, Ill., formerly of Jackson, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra.
She was born July 14, 1911, in Sedgewickville, Mo., daughter of Eli J. and Eveline C. Niswonger Seabaugh.
Myrtle worked 45 years at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson. After she retired from the shoe factory in 1976, she did baby sitting in her home for many years. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson since she was 8 years old.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Lulla May Allen of Marine, Ill.; a son, Harold Allen of Orville, Ohio; and a sister, Virgie Templeton of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen; one brother; two sisters; two grandchildren; and two infant grandchildren.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmy Corbin officiating. Interment will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church van fund.
