Allen, Wilma Joletta (nee Cook)

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Wilma Joletta Allen, 67, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at her home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1939, at Sedgewickville, Mo., daughter of Ruthford and Lucille Cook. She and Clarence Martin Allen were married Aug. 1, 1958.

Allen had worked at the Boy Scout office in Cape Girardeau, at Sikeston Middle School, and was an Avon representative many years. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church, its Ruth Sunday School Class, and was a nursery worker many years.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tammy (Robert) Wadlington of Benton, Mo., Cindy (Mark) Hulshof of Dexter, Mo.; a son, Marty (Jan) Allen of Farmington, Mo.; two sisters, Sharon (Ed) Pinkerton and Judy (Ted) Clark of Jackson; two brothers, Jerry (Jane) Cook of Centralia, Mo., Ron Cook of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Blake, Austin and Lauren Wadlington of Benton, Emily, Tyler and Ryan Hulshof of Dexter, and Morgan and Keegan Allen of Farmington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Miner Baptist Church. The Revs. Ron Shrum and Jimmy Matthews will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
