Andersen, Shane Robert-Thomas
Shane Robert-Thomas Andersen, 22, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 6, 1992, in Columbia, Missouri, to Robert Steven and Dolores Ann Heisserer Andersen.
Shane was a 2006 graduate of Guardian Angel Elementary School and a 2010 graduate of Oran High School where he was a Boys State delegate his junior year and went to state in discus and shot put. He obtained an associate degree in criminal justice from Three Rivers Community College and certified POST training from Southeast Missouri State University.
He worked as a night jailer at the Scott County Jail and later as an associate at Wal-Mart in Cape Girardeau. He was a graphic artist, outdoorsman, and enjoyed running and bodybuilding.
Survivors include his mother, Dolores Ann Heisserer Andersen of Oran, Missouri; a sister, Louise (David Harris) Andersen of Helena, Montana; uncles, Chris (Lana) Andersen, Karl (Barbara) Heisserer and Melvin (Shirley) Heisserer; aunts, Linda, Patty and Janis Andersen; and two nieces, Allie Louise and Krista Leann Harris.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Steven Andersen; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Mary Lou Heisserer; and paternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Shirley Drymon Andersen.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
