Baer, Lonita Agatha (nee Buchheit)
Lonita A. Baer, 92, of Old Appleton died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Perry County, daughter of Joseph and Anna Schott Buchheit. She and Leo J. Baer were married Oct. 4, 1941, in Perry County. He died Oct. 8, 1971.
Baer was one of the founding members of Buchheit in Biehle, Mo., and worked there as a secretary. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek and its St. Joseph Ladies and choir.
Survivors include a son, Richard Baer of Old Appleton; a sister, Marie Baer of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church in Apple Creek, Mo. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at Apple Creek.
