Barks, Lillie Lucille (nee Wallis)
Lillie L. Barks, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Oct. 11, 1920, at Millersville, Mo., daughter of Daniel and Elsie Miller Wallis. She and Loy V. Barks were married April 16, 1940. He died Dec. 3, 1990.
Barks was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She was a teacher at May Greene and Jefferson elementary schools, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, charter member of Cape Rock Order of Eastern Star Chapter 60, and was a past worthy grand matron for Missouri in 1977.
Survivors include a son, Danny Barks of Jackson, Mo.; a daughter, Janis Reimann of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
