Barks, Maggie Gertrude (nee Ramsey)

MRS. J.B. BARKS

LUTESVILLE - A lifelong resident of Bollinger County, Mrs. J.B. Barks, 72 years old, died Thursday in a Lutesville nursing home.

Mrs. Barks was born April 19, 1896 in Marble Hill.

The former Miss Maggie Gertrude Ramsey, she was married to J.B. Barks on Dec. 24, 1914. He survives. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1964.

She was a member of the Hog Creek Homemakers Extension Club and the Harmony Church.

She is survived by a son J. Lowell Barks, Bethalto IL; four daughters, Mrs. Burns Graves and Mrs. Melvin Fornkahl, both of Marble Hill, Mrs. James McClard, Burfordville, and Mrs. Harold Golightly, Fruitland; a brother, Earl Ramsey, Burfordville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Harmony Church by the Rev. Donald Sander and the Rev. Charles Shumate. Burial will be in Leslie cemetery.

The body is at Ward Funeral Home in Lutesville where friends may call.
