Barks, Sarah Belle (nee Stevens)
LUTESVILLE - Mrs. Edward N. Barks, 93 years old, of Jackson died Thrusday noon at the home of her daughter at Jackson. Born Aug. 18 1873, she was married to Mr. Barks June 4, 1891. He died in 1965.
Surviving are four sons; Burlen and Jess H. Barks, Marble Hill; Wendell Barks, Glen Allen; and Basil Barks, Leopold; three daughters, Mrs. Alt (Ethel) Felty, Millersville; Mrs. W.H. (Mae) McMullen, St. Louis; and Mrs. Charles (Ola) Schreiner, Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Rada Mungle, Cape Girardeau; one brother, Wesley Stevens, state of Florida; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Barks was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 at Scopus Church of Christ with the Rev. Arvel Hawn officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery at Scopus with Ward Funeral Home in charge.
