PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Bennett J. Berkbigler, 82, of Perryville died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Biehle, Mo., son of Andrew W. and Regina W. Buchheit Berkbigler. He and Wanda R. Brewer were married Nov. 5, 1960. She survives in Perryville.

Bennett worked at Sabreliner Corp. as a leadman and retired after 32 years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263 and the U.S. Army National Guard.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Jim) Schillaci of Washington Township, N.J., and Richelle (Scott) Jokerst of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Kevin (Annette) Berkbigler of Fenton, Mo.; two brothers, Ray (Myra) Berkbigler of Perryville and Vernon (Pat) Berkbigler of Friedheim; a sister, Etta (Jim) Basler of Pevely, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karla Pavlovsky; and a brother, Harold Berkbigler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and from 6:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Monday at the church.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with Rev. Milton Ryan CM and Rev. Gerry Kelley concelebrating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Serenity Hospice.

A funeral was held today, April 15, 2013 for 81-year-old Bennett J. Berkbigler of Perryville who died April 13, 2013 at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville.

He was born June 4, 1931 in Biehle, the son of Andrew W. and Regina W. (Buchheit) Berkbigler.

He married Wanda R. Brewer on November 5, 1960. She survives in Perryville.
