Beussink, William "Bill" John

William John "Bill" Beussink, 86, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, at his home.

He was born April 5, 1925, in Leopold, Mo., to Anthony John and Mary Cecelia Arnzen Beussink. Bill was married to Roxie J. Stroder May 3, 1949. She died Aug. 3, 1994.

Bill owned and operated a construction company several years in Jackson, and later was a construction supervisor for Bob Penrod Construction in Cape Girardeau. In 1987 he retired after several years with Overhead Door Company of Southeast Missouri in Jackson.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, life member of VFW Post 3838 and member of Capaha Antique Car Club, both in Cape Girardeau.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1944 to 1946 in the Indian Islands.

Survivors include a son, Todd (Mary) Beussink of Jackson; two daughters, Jill (John) Essner of Cape Girardeau, Kim (Earl) Bennett of Jackson; three brothers, Fred (Betty) Beussink and Harold (Helen) Beussink of Leopold, David (Judy) Beussink of Jackson; three sisters, Catherine (Herman) Brands of Portageville, Mo., Pat Bollinger of Marble Hill, Mo., and Linda Brown of Jackson.

Also three sisters-in-law, Angela Beussink of Jackson, Bernice Beussink of St. Louis, Pat Beussink of Farmington, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Beth, Andrew, Emily and Allison Essner, Eric and Rob Bennett, Sarah (Philip) Fry, Amanda Balsman, Tyler Beussink, Cassie Woodward; eight great-grandchildren, Paige and Brooke Balsman, Roxie and Jackson Fry, Ethyn, Emma and Riley Bennett, and Alek Jaco.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie; four brothers, Phillip, Charles, Franklin, Joseph; and a sister, Adele.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery, with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice or Immaculate Conception Church.
