Gena Bisher, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at her home after years of dealing with her disabilities from complications from a car wreck in 1983.

She was born Oct. 11, 1963, in Cape Girardeau to Earl A. and Shirley A. Blechle Bisher.

She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1982 and from Cape Beauty School of Cosmetology in 1983. She later graduated from Metro Business College.

Gena was a bookkeeper for Powers Standard Service, secretary at VIP Industries and later for St. Augustine Parish in Kelso, Missouri, seven years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her mother, Shirley A. Bisher of Cape Girardeau; brother, Bruce A. Bisher of Jefferson City, Missouri; sister, Debbie (Darren) Davis of Cape Girardeau; niece, Christine (Chris) Hinman of Cape Girardeau; nephew, Ryan Davis of Cape Girardeau and her beloved dog, Kojo.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with parish prayers at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Melaina's Magical Playland at Cape County Park and Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
