Blandford, Lillian Rose (nee Ernst)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lillian R. Blandford, 88, of Perryville died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at her home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Belgique, Missouri, daughter of Anton B. and Magdalena Kutz Ernst. She and Joseph L. Blandford were married April 7, 1951. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 2007.

Lillian had worked for International Shoe, Prince Gardner and retired from Gilster Mary-Lee as cake-plant inspector. She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Missouri. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, working with roses in her garden, embroidering and quilting.

Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie (William) Prost; one son, Curtis "Butch" (Tammy) Blandford, all of Perryville; one sister, Dorothy Moranville of Farmington, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Cynthia Striebel; one infant grandson, Dustin J. Blandford; two brothers, Elmer and Wilbert Ernst; and one sister, Anna Kajszo.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with a parish wake at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, with the praying of the rosary at 9:30 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Christ the Savior Catholic Church or St. Vincent schools.

Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville provided the arrangements.
