Blankenship, Stacy Jo (nee Gast)
Stacy Jo Blankenship, 39, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at her father's home, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born July 19, 1971, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Johnny Gast and Jody Cook.
Stacy was a 1989 graduate of Jackson High School. She completed cosmetology school and owned and operated a salon in Scott City. She later worked as a stylist in Junction City, Kan., until moving back to Jackson in 2008.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Jonnie Blankenship of Jackson; a son, Danyon Blankenship of Mounds, Ill.; father and stepmother, Johnny (Linda) Gast of Jackson; mother and stepfather, Jody (Frank) Hurt of Jackson; a sister, Laura Blankenship of Jackson; a brother, Josh (Jennifer) Gast of Jackson; a niece, Heather Blankenship; three nephews, Levi Asher, Caleb and Austin Gast.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Stacy's family would like to give special thanks to all family and friends for their support and prayers.
