Blaylock, Charles Ferdinand

Funeral services were held Sunday evening, March 20, 1955, at the Crossroads Methodist Church for Charles Ferdinand Blaylock, who died Friday evening, March 18, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Melvin Kutscher. He was 86 years old.

Mr. Blaylock and his brother Thomas, who died several years ago, were prominent throughout this area as auctioneers. They operated under the partnership name of Blaylock Brothers. After his brother's death, C. F. Blaylock carried on the work alone, retiring just a few years ago.

Mr. Blaylock was born on March 1, 1869, in Perry County, a son of John and Levica (Penny) Blaylock. He married Rosa Blaylock on Jan 19, 1893, at Hickory Groves, Ky. Mrs. Blaylock died on March 9, 1945. Among the survivors are: three sons, Vester and Benton of Perryville, R. 1; two daughters, Mrs. Kutscher of Perryville and Mrs. Wm. Loberg of Perryville, R. 1,; one brother, Dr. R. D. Blaylock of Oak Ridge; seven granchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The body lay in state at Young and Sons Chapel until 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, when it was taken to the Crossroads Church. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Mangan.
