Blaylock, Columbus

Columbus Blaylock, 95-year-old resident of the Crossroads community, died on Tuesday, Nov 23, at his home. Death was attributed to the infirmities of old age.

Mr. Blaylock was born on July 17, 1859, in Perry County, a son of Alex and Barbara (Bess) Blaylock. He married Miss Belinda Barks, who died on March 7, 1946. Among the survivors are nine children, Andrew of Festus, Ray of Jackson, and Julius Blaylock of Perryville, R. 1, Mrs. Will Bangert of Jackson, Mrs. Jeff Lukefahr of Millersville, Mrs. Ernst Fadler of Patton, Mrs. Will Yount of Norfolk, Va; Mrs. August Lix of Perryville and Mrs. G. V. Little of Kansas City; two half-brothers, Ferd Blaylock of Perryville and Dr. R. D. Blaylock of Oak Ridge; 48 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at Young and Sons Chapel until 11 o'clock tomorrow morning, Nov 26, when it will be taken to the Crossroads Methodist Church, where services will be held at 1 p.m., the Rev. A. E. Northdurft officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
