Blaylock, Richard D.

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Richard D. "Mr. B" Blaylock, 62, of Ste. Genevieve died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1942, at Cape Girardeau, son of Cecil and Chlola Statler Blaylock. He and Virginia French were married. She died Jan. 12, 2002.

Blaylock was retired English teacher at Festus schools and was manager of the H&R Block Farmington, Mo., office. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Festus-Crystal City, Mo. He was a past president of the Missouri Teachers Association, a 32nd-degree Mason with the Harold O. Grauel Lodge 672 of Cape Girardeau and a member of the Order of Eastern Star 417. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Melanie Elder of Festus, Mo., Elizabeth Boeckstiegel and Danielle Parnell of Bloomsdale, Mo.; a sister, Sally Eaker of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Vineyard Funeral Home at Festus.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Husted officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at St. Louis, Mo
