Blechle, Earl John

Earl John Blechle, 80, of Jackson died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Jackson Manor.

He was born June 16, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, to August and Katherine Pingle Blechle. Earl and Joyce May were married June 13, 1964, in Cape Girardeau.

Earl served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Earl worked at Robinson Lumber Co., Riverside Lumber Co., and retired from Southeast Missouri Builders Supply. He was an avid baseball fan and very involved in his grandchildren's lives.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Blechle of Jackson; two sons, Michael (Amie) Blechle of Jackson and David (Lori) Blechle of Kelso, Missouri; a sister, Verena (Charles) Felter of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Madison and Logan Blechle of Jackson, Isabella and Lydia Blechle of Kelso.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerome and Paul Blechle.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or Southeast Hospice.
