Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 1st, 2006 for 69-year-old Sylvia Mae Blessing of Perryville, who died Sunday, May 28th, 2006 in Branson.
She was born November 3rd, 1936 in Perry County, the daughter of William and Georgia (Boesch) Mattingly. They preceded her in death.
She married Joseph Blessing September 1st, 1956. He survives in Perryville.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Blessing and Duane Blessing, both of Perryville, and the Rev. Gerald Blessing of Wildwood; five daughters and sons in law, Denise and Brad Hanquist and Janice and Mark Lundy, all of Perryville, Gale and Frank Merz of St. Louis, Michelle and Scott Bradshaw of Cape Girardeau, Lisa and Timothy Hughes of Arnold; a brother and sister in law, Delano and Shirley Mattingly of St. Mary; three sisters and brothers in law, Mary Ann and Albert Winterberg of Percy, IL, Eleanor and Marvin Mecker of Perryville, and Glenda and Louis Eng of Highlands Ranch, CO; 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Joseph, and a sister, Virginia Fingers.
She was a homemaker and owner/operator of a catering service.
She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters Of Isabella and Missouri Right To Life.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 31st and 6:30-11 a.m. Thursday, June 1st at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. A Catholic Wake will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and the Rosary will be recited 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel.
Funeral Mass for 69-year-old Sylvia Mae Blessing of Perryville will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1st, 2006 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Revs. Kevin Fausz and Gerald Blessing will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
