Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 for 77-year-old Fred W. Bodenschatz Jr. of Perryville who died Thursday, Feb. 7 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born on July 23, 1924 in Wittenberg, the son of the late Fredrick W. and Lydia (Verseman) Bodenschatz.
He was married to Hazel Moll on April 24, 1948. She survives in Perryville.
Three daughters and one son-in-law survive, Anna Marie Berkbuegler of Perryville; Cindy Hedge of Perryville; and Sherry Bodenschatz of Perryville.
Three sisters and one brother survive, Leona Dollard of St. Louis; Viola Aronnson of St. Louis; Cordelia Darcy of Leslie, Mo.; and Robert Bodenschatz of House Springs.
Seven grandchildren, Melissa Berkbuegler of Manhattan, New York; Kent Berkbuegler of St. Louis; Kirk Berkbuegler of Lake St. Louis; Jill and Julie Berkbuegler of St. Louis, and Kaycee and Kaylin Hedge, both of Perryville; and one great grandchild, Elizabeth Berkbuegler of Lake St. Louis, survive.
One sister, Rose Talbert; two brothers, Edward and Raymond Bodenschatz; and one son-in-law, Marion Berkbuegler preceded him in death.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Perryville; a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, and a member of American Legion Post 133 and V.F.W.
Funeral service for Fred W. Bodenschatz was held Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Young and Sons Chapel. Rev. Matthew Marks officiated.
Memorial preference is to the American Heart Association, Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, or the Immanuel Lutheran Grade School in Perryville.
