Bohnenkamp, Marvin H.

Dr. Marvin H. Bohnenkamp, 51 year old dentist of Flat River was killed about 6:30 am Saturday, November 30 (1974), two miles west of Fredericktown on Highway 72. The State Patrol said his car was traveling east when it ran off the highway and crashed into a rock bluff and burned.

Dr. Bohnenkamp was born at Bourbon and was a son of Rev. Samuel D. Bohnenkamp of Farmington, a former Methodist minister at Sedgewickville and Marquand, and the late Amy Sites Bohnenkamp. Dr. Bohnenkamp was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was discharged from the US Army as a Major in 1952. He had practiced dentistry in Flat River since that time.

Surviving are his widow, Davalee Pettus Bohnenkamp, Flat River; father, the Rev. Samuel D. Bohnenkamp of Farmington; three sons, Marvin Bohnenkamp and Kenneth Bohnenkamp, both of St. Louis, and Scott Bohnenkamp of the home; two daughters, Robin Bohnenkamp and Tracy Bohnenkamp, both of the home; one brother, Henry Bohnenkamp of Highley Heights; and four sisters, Mrs. Harry (May) Summers of Birch Tree, Mrs. Coy (Mildred) Statler of Advance, Mrs. Andy (Lucy) Fowler of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Sam (Clara) Raines of Farmington.

Chapel services were held at 2 pm Monday, December 2 at Murphy L. Sparks Funeral Home in Flat River with the Rev. Harold Nance offficiating, assisted by the Rev. William Blackard. Burial was in St. Francios Memorial Park, Flat River.
