Bohnenkamp, Samuel D.
Rev. Sam D. Bohnenkamp, a United methodist minister, was born Feb. 17, 1889 at Bourbon, Mo. and passed away Feb. 20, 1983 at the Farmington Memorial Hospital at the age of 94 years and three days.
He united in marriage to Amy Sites Bohnenkamp Aug 6, 1913, who preceded him in death Oct 5, 1965. To this union seven children were born: May Summers of Birch Tree, Mildred Statler Sellers of Westmont, Ill; Earl of Morganfield, Ky, who preceded him in death; Clara Raines of Farmington, Henry Bohnenkamp of Desloge, Marvin Bohnenkamp, who preceded him in death, Lucy Fowler of Mexico, MO.
Rev. Bohnenkamp made his home at Farmington, MO. after he retired from the active ministry. He continued to preach once in a while and to perform wedding ceremonies. In 1975, he performed 75 weddings. He was called "Marrying Sam."
He had seven children, 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who know him.
