PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Delbert J. Bohnert, 95, of Perryville died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m., with a VFW service at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 for 95-year-old Delbert J. Bohnert, of Perryville, who died Nov. 30th, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 7, 1918 at Uniontown, the son of Henry Bohnert and Mary Welker Bohnert who both preceded him in death.

He married Agnes G. (Mattingly) Bohnert on Oct. 21, 1941; she preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 2013.

He is survived by two sons: Donald Bohnert of St. Louis and Ken Bohnert of Perryville, two daughters: Carol Schindler of Perryville and Leila Hayden of Perryville, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild and a sister; Myrtle Baer of Ste. Genevieve.

Delbert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282.

He worked at Biltbest Windows, and owned and operated Bohnert TV Repair in Perryville.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 and 6:30-10:50 a.m. Thursday, December 5 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers at 5:30 p.m. and a VFW service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 95-year-old Delbert J. Bohnert, of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM officiating.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
