PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace I. "Wally" Bohnert, 90, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Independence Care Center. He was born Oct. 26, 1920, at Longtown, Mo., son of Joseph W. and Thresia Geringer Bohnert. He and Rosetta M. Kline were married May 4, 1948. She preceded him in death July 31, 2000...

A funeral will be held Monday, September 12th, 2011 for 90-year-old Wallace Bohnert of Perryville, who died Friday, September 9th, 2011 at the Independence Care Center.

He was born October 26th, 1920 in Longtown, the son of Joseph and Thresia (Geringer) Bohnert. They preceded him in death.

He married Rosetta Kline May 4th, 1948. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Daniel) Coffey, Diane (Larry Brown); three sons, James (Brenda) Bohnert, Jerry (Mary) Bohnert, Dale (Verna) Bohnert, all of Perryville; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

He worked at International Shoe Company. He also worked as a carpenter at The Miners Lumber Company. He served his country during World War II as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #133 and also V.F.W. Post 4282.

Visitation will be from 5-9:00pm on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.V.F.W. Service at 6:45pm, Parish Prayers at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue

On Monday, September 12 from 6:30am-9:50am, the rosary will be recited at 9:00am at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass for 90-year-old Wallace Bohnert of Perryville will be held at 10:00am Monday, Sept. 12 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of the American Legion Post # 133 and the Delta Team.

Memorials to St. Vincent de Paul School System,, American Cancer Society, or Charity of Choice.

Miller Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
