Bollinger, Agnes Luceil (nee Proffer)

Agnes Luceil Bollinger, 96, of Jackson died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Oct. 17, 1917, at Crump, the daughter of Jason and Anna Mae Slinkard Proffer. She was married to Varl Bollinger. He died Aug. 18, 1982.

Agnes lived in the Crump and Jackson area all her life. She went to school in Crump and was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump. She was baptized in Crooked Creek by the Rev. John Fowler.

She worked at the Jackson Shoe Factory during World War II where she made gloves for the U.S. Army and Navy, then turned to making shoes. She was a loving wife and mother and loved to spend time in her garden.

She is survived by a son, Leslie Bollinger of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband Varl and two brothers, Wesley and Richard Nile Proffer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

A graveside funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem General Baptist Church.
