Bollinger, Harold Wayne "Butch"

Harold "Butch" Bollinger, 66, of Jackson passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Roy A. and Maggie Alene Goehman Bollinger. He and Karen Rastl were married Dec. 1, 1962.

Butch graduated from Jackson High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. National Guard from 1961 to 1963.

He owned and operated Screen Arts Inc. in Cape Girardeau. He then worked for General Sign Co. in Cape Girardeau, B&B Marine in Jackson, and was currently a marshal at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.

Butch received a heart transplant in 2003 and was a member of the Heart Transplant Association of St. Louis. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. He greatly enjoyed fishing and golfing.

In addition to his loving wife, survivors include a son, Rodney (Danette) Bollinger; a daughter, Cindy (Sammy) Lawson; his father; four grandchildren, Kyle and Tori Bollinger, Logan and Kayla Lawson, all of Jackson; four sisters, Shirley (Robert) Talley of Cape Girardeau, Beverly (Leland) Nelson, Karen Smith and Mary Meyer of Jackson; two brothers, Roy (Carol) Bollinger Jr. and Mike (Leanne) Bollinger of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends may call at a memorial visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Heart Transplant Association of St. Louis, c/o Mary Kay Reinhold, 2835 Olive St., St. Louis, MO, 63103.
