Bollinger, Majorie Jean (nee Hopkins)

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Marjorie Hopkins Bollinger, 97, of Marble Hill passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Zalma, Mo., daughter of C.F. and Della Rowland Hopkins. She and Charley Gifford Bollinger were married March 2, 1933. He passed away Feb. 20, 2004.

Mrs. Bollinger was a member of Marble Hill Bible Chapel and a past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Bollinger IGA in Whitewater and Bell City, Mo.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gene Bollinger of Waynesville, Mo., Jim and Janice Bollinger of Marble Hill, Tim and Janet Bollinger of Warner Robins, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Dixie Hopkins of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hopkins; three sisters, Mary Hahn, Clara Ricketts and Kathryn Hathaway.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Englehart officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Chapel Mission Fund.
