Bollinger, Shirley J. (nee Davenport)

Shirley J. Bollinger, 66, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 20, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lawrence and Mabel Stroder Davenport. Shirley was raised in the Gravel Hill community and was a 1956 graduate of Woodland High School. She and Clifford Bollinger were married Nov. 9, 1956, in Marble Hill, Mo.

After their marriage, the couple moved to St. Louis, where Shirley worked in the California Tanning Co. In 1970, they moved to Jackson and Shirley worked for Ceramo Co. Inc. in the warehouse and shipping department. Shirley was planning to retire this June, with 30 years of service.

The Bollingers attended the Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include her husband of 48 years, Clifford; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sue Bollinger of St. Louis County; a brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Ruth Davenport of Marble Hill; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Larry Cutright; and two grandsons, Brandon and Austin Bollinger of St. Louis County.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Sunday, March 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Burke officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
