Bond, Jennings

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Jennings Bond, 78, of Marble Hill passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, near Grassy, Missouri, as the result of a motorcycle/vehicle accident.

He was born Jan. 23, 1936, at Hahn, Missouri, son of John and Nova Mae Myers Bond.

Jennings served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.

He was the owner/operator of Bond Trucking and Bond Enterprises.

Survivors include a brother, Dale (Linda) Bond of Pocahontas, Illinois; a sister, Gayle (Charles) Spooler of Marble Hill; nieces, Donna (Richard) Howard of Alhambra, Illinois, Kelly (Michael) Beck of Alvin, Texas, and Connie (David) Rifkin of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; a great-niece, Jordan Howard; five great-nephews, Nicholas Howard, Brandon Beck, Justin Beck, Adam Rifkin and Blake Rifkin; and special friends, Barbara Trankle of Marble Hill, Daphne (Chris) Edmonds, Christen and Devon of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Englehart officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodland School sports program.
