Boxdorfer, Marvin Everett

Marvin Everett Boxdorfer, 69, of Fruitland died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Perryville, Mo., son of Leonard G. and Minnie C. Deimund Boxdorfer. He and Ruth Ann Reisenbichler were married March 22,1980, at Florissant, Mo.

Mr. Boxdorfer grew up in Perry County and graduated from Perryville High School. He moved to St. Louis in January 1956, where he worked 36 years at McDonnell-Douglas, retiring in June 1990. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1994 from Florissant.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, McDonnell-Douglas Motorcycle Club, Capaha Antique Car Club and American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, Mo.

Mr. Boxdorfer served with the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen D. and Christine Boxdorfer of St. Louis; eight brothers, Hubert Boxdorfer of Caseyville, Ill., Alvin Boxdorfer of Belleville, Ill., Richard Boxdorfer of Bethalto, Ill., Ervin Boxdorfer of Cape Girardeau, Thomas Boxdorfer of Bethalto, Danny Boxdorfer of Lake St. Louis, Milford Boxdorfer of Olney, Ill., Oliver Boxdorfer of Steeleville, Ill.; and a sister, Clara Hall of Ashley, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan D. Boxdorfer, and a sister, Judy Holmes.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. An American Legion service will be held at 7 by Post 133.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Chapel, with the Rev. Barry L. Pfanstiel officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Saxony Lutheran High School.
