Boyd, Delmar Shelton
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Delmar S. Boyd, 92, of Perryville died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Independence Court in Perryville.
He was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Coffman, Mo., son of the late John Henry and Irene Anna Schaaf Boyd. He and Doris M. Moore were married Oct. 4, 1941. She preceded him in death Aug. 15, 1973. He and Betty J. Lix were married May 14, 1975.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joyce M. (Charles) Hurst of St. Mary, Mo., Wanda M. Boyd of St. Louis; two sons, Allen L. (Alma) Boyd of Jackson, Kenneth J. (Madonna) Boyd of McClure, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Melba Roth; and a grandson.
Boyd was a mechanic for an auto dealership. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and American Legion Post 133.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II from 1942 to 1945, and in the reserves from 1950 to 1975.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Mount Hope Cemetery Association.
