Brandes, Nora Helene (nee Vogel)
UNIONTOWN, Mo. — Nora H. Brandes, 87, of Uniontown died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Perry County, daughter of John and Martha Hopfer Vogel. She and Benjamin Brandes were married Feb. 10, 1945. He died Oct. 6, 1994.
Brandes was a waitress 40 years at Intersection Restaurant in Perryville, Mo. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.
Survivors include a son, Russell Brandes of Perryville; a daughter, Jane Myers of Perryville; two brothers, Herbert Vogel of Washington, Mo., Milton Vogel of Perryville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
