Brickhaus, Chalmer A.

A funeral will be held Saturday, September 4, 1999 for 74-year-old Chalmer A. Brickhaus of Sedgewickville who died Wednesday, September 1st at his home.

He was born August 4th, 1925, in Longtown, the son of William F. Brickhaus and Albertina Baudendistel Brickhaus who both preceded in death.

He married Betty Jean Huber in 1950. She preceded in death in 1957.

He then married Lolamae L. Rickerman on June 29th, 1963 in Crestwood. She survives in Sedgewickville.

He is also survived by five sons: David (Lisa) Brickhaus of St. Charles, Michael (Jennifer) Brickhaus of De Soto, Matthew (Toni) Brickhaus of the U.S. Navy, William (and friend Angie Comte) of Perryville and Thomas (and friend Kendall Schneider) of Perryville.

He is also survived by five daughters: Debbie (Ted) Lieberman of Valley Park, Nancy (Eddie) Mattingly of Barnhart, Connie (Kevin) Heberlie of Perryville, Kathy (Mike) Thompson of De Soto and Lola (Jason) Dauster of Perryville.

16 grandchildren also survive him.

One son, three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

He was the owner and operator of Brickhaus Fertilizer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He received the Victory, American Area, Asiatic Pacific (one star) and Good Conduct Medals.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake service at 7 p.m. Friday and rosary at 9 a.m. Saturday, both at the funeral home.

A funeral service for 74-year-old Chalmer A. Brickhaus of Sedgewickville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville. He will be buried with military honors at the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz C.M., will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Southeast Hospice or the ALS Society of St. Louis.
