Callis, Carol Inez (nee Minton)
Carol Inez Callis, 72, of Jackson, formerly of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 18, 1941 in Pueblo, Colo., to Lee Roy and Thelma Inez Lindsey Minton.
Carol graduated from Thebes High School in Thebes, Ill.in 1959.
She and George Donald Callis were married Jan. 17, 1960 at Thebes.
She was employed as a clerk for Kmart in Cape Girardeau for 19 years. and retired in 2006 from Southeast Hospital after 16 years as a secretary.
She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and attended Cape County Cowboy Church.
Survivors include sons Jerry (Terri) Callis of Cape Girardeau, Mitchell Callis of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Carol "Yvonne" Parker (finance, Gary King ) of Scott City; brother, James Crail of Punta Gorda of Florida; five grandchildren, Dustin Parker, Lindsey (Justin) Prior, Ashley Callis, Callie Jo Callis and Abby Callis; four great grandchildren, Carson Burrows, Autumn Burrows, Jordon Parker and Roger Prior; and exhusband, George Donald Callis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel .
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
