Camren, Hurshel "Babe"

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Hurshel "Babe" Camren, 87, of Advance passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Advance Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Greenbrier, Mo., son of Audie and Pearl Fannie Borders Camren. He and Jean Richardson were married Dec. 22, 1945, in Brownwood, Mo.

Babe was a farmer more than 40 years. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, crafts, and loved sharing them with others.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy Manuel of Advance, Karen Illers of Jackson; two brothers, Herbert Camren of Granite City, Ill., Bill Camren of Caseyville, Ill.; a sister, Eula Brown of Millersville; four grandchildren, Kris Manuel of Cape Girardeau, Ethan Manuel of Advance, Jennifer Beard of Farmington, Mo., Lacey Illers of Henderson, Ky.; and two great-grandchildren, Kaima Manuel of Cape Girardeau and Kailey Beard of Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, with full military honors.
