Chadd, Arthur L.

Arthur L. 'Smokey' Chadd, an auto mechanic, died October 2, 1987. He had been ill two years. Mr. Chadd, 75, was a resident of Illinois in the suburban St. Louis area. Born May 24, 1912 at Washburn, MO, he resided in Illinois since 1946.

He was member of Cahokia General Baptist Church.

Mr Chadd was employed 26 years as a mechanic at Hutchings Service Station, retiring in 1976.

He and his wife, the former Elma Elledge were married in 1932 in Lutesville, MO. She survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Avery (Yvonne) Morris and Mrs. Roger (Carol) Feltmeyer of Granite City; two sisters, Mrs. Lula McRill of Detroit and Mrs. Myrtle Myers of Marble Hill; and four grandchildren.

Services and burial were in Edwardsville at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
