Clippard, Jessie Della (nee Niswonger)
Jessie Della Clippard, 89, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Monticello House.
She was born Nov. 23, 1919, near Kurreville, Mo., daughter of Frank and Iva Dell Statler Niswonger. She married Fred B. Clippard April 8, 1939. He died April 20, 2000.
Jessie Della is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Fred B. Clippard and Robin R. Deshong, and granddaughters, Jessie Rhoda, Carrie Mae and Zoe Beatrice Clippard, all of Altoona, Pa.
She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nora Marie and Samuel C. Vinyard; and a sister-in-law, Ann Niswonger, all of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald R. and Judy Niswonger of Cape Girardeau; an aunt, Irene Sewing; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe D. and Harold Niswonger; three sisters, Violet B. Skinner, Mary Maud Wessell and Lurena Maintz.
Jessie Della attended Jackson High School and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. She was a past worthy matron and 50-year member of Chapter 91 Order of Eastern Star of Jackson.
She retired first from Jackson Hosiery Mill and then from International Shoe Co. in Jackson. In retirement she spent much of her time reading and gardening.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home In Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Jetton officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
