Clippard, Loretta Maud (nee Delph)

Loretta Maud Clippard, 103, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Jan. 3, 1900, at Oak Ridge, daughter of Emory and Martha Elizabeth Davenport Delph. She and Seibert Hartle Clippard were married Sept. 2,1924, at Marble Hill, Mo. He died Nov. 17, 1970.

Mrs. Clippard moved from Oak Ridge and lived in Broseley, Mo., 30 years and then moved to Jackson. She had farmed with her husband. She was the oldest member of First General Baptist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include a son, Clyde Clippard and wife Hazel of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Browning Delph of Jackson; two granddaughters, Gay Lee and husband Thomas of Cape Girardeau, Joy McQuay and husband Don of Jackson; six great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Lee and wife Amanda, Joseph Hoover, Joshua Lee and wife Brittney, Jonathan Hoover, Joanna Lee, and Shaelyne McQuay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Hartle; three brothers, Frank, Pink and Joe.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First General Baptist Church Building Fund.
