Coffman, Eugene "Toot"
A funeral will be held Friday, July 24th, 2010 for 81-year-old Eugene "Toot" Coffman of Minnith, who died Tuesday, July 20th at his residence.
He was born Saturday, November 17, 1928 in Minnith, the son of Ralph Coffman and Verna (Roper) Smith who both preceded him in death.
He married Wilma W. (Kriete) Coffman on Saturday, July 31, 1948. She survives in Minnith.
He is also survived by a son: Joe (Cathy) Coffman, Minnith; a daughter: Carma (Denny) Franklin, Farmington; three grandchildren: Derek Franklin, Haley Franklin and Amanda (Steve) Bosky; a brother: Tom (Edna) Coffman, Minnith; and a sister: Helen (Bert) Brewer, Difani Lake.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Jerry Coffman and a grandchild: Patrick Coffman.
He was a school teacher for 39 years including teaching in Ester for several years.
He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
He was a deacon at Saline Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for 62 years.
He was a member of the board of Peaceful Valley Baptist Camp.
He was a long time member of the board and agent for Farmers Mutual Insurance.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 22nd at the Basler Funeral Home, Ste. Genevieve and 9-10 a.m. Friday, July 23rd at the Saline Baptist Church in Minnith.
A funeral for 81-year-old Eugene "Toot" Coffman of Minnith will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23rd at the Saline Baptist Church in Minnith. The Rev. Steve Brewer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Minnith Cemetery
Memorials may be made to Peaceful Valley Baptist Camp.
