PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Robert O. Collins, 87, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Anne Saegesser officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery near Longtown, Mo.

A funeral will be held Tuesday for 87-year-old Robert O. Collins of Perryville who died September 28, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

He was born December 7, 1924 in St. Louis, son of Dr. Lyle L. and Lucille M. (Orthwein) Collins who both preceded him in death.

He married Jewell Farrar were married on August 12, 1950. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Karen Collins, Verna Weisbrod, Donald and Eugenia Farrar, Betty Farrar, Donald Grantham, Agnes Farrar and several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by a sister: Jane Johanning; a brother: Tom Collins; and in-laws, Lloyd, Richard, and Roger Farrar, Bob Johanning, Geraldine and Emanuel Leible, Evelyn and William "Bill" Sherrill, Ivalene and Vernon Rhyne, Leonard Weisbrod and Margie Grantham.

He had been a sales representative in the textile industry.

He was a member of United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 133.

He was sexton of York Chapel Cemetery.

He was a WW II US Army veteran.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and 6:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
