Cook, Odie Franklin

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Odie Franklin Cook, 81, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at his home.

He was born Jan. 17, 1928, at Mayfield, Mo., son of Elzie J. and Hattie A Cook. He and Dorothy Alvine Garland were married Feb. 19, 1945.

Cook worked in the timber business and at a feed store. He was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Marble Hill; a son, Bobby Cook of Marble Hill; five daughters, Joyce Miller of Garden City, Kan.; Mary Lee Sander, Carolyn Sander and Sharon Malito, all of Millersville, Connie Stewart of Jackson; two sisters, Anna Mae Douglas and Mary S. Long of Marble Hill; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Albert, Dude and John Henry Cook.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hurricane Fork Church, with the Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and the Rev. Kenny Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
