Cook, Susan Caroline (nee Miller)
Mrs. Susan C. Cook, relict of William M. Cook, died on her 77th birthday. She had been a widow 22 years and lived within two miles of her birthplace, near Scopus.
She was the mother of eleven children, six girls and five boys; six of them survive her. Her grandchildren number sixty-two and she had fifty-five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cook had always dreaded a lingering illness and prayed that she might die without suffering. Her prayer was granted, a stroke of paralysis ending her earthly troubles.
She united with the General Baptist Church 21 years ago, in which connection she lived, a consistent Christian, until called above, the last of eleven brothers and sisters.
