Cook, Wilma Louise (nee Lee)

Wilma Louise Cook, 83, of Jackson died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 18, 1925, at Lacoma, Mo., daughter of Oscar Thomas and Wilma Fern Elliott Lee. On Oct. 8, 1942, she married Roy Amaziah Cook. He died March 20, 1989.

She owned and operated a beauty salon in Jackson for 31 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of First General Baptist Church of Jackson.

Survivors include four sons, Lee Roy Cook, Timothy Cook and Thomas Cook, all of Jackson, and Donald Cook of Tennessee; two daughters, Jody Hurt of Jackson and Diane (Cookie) Wilkinson of Farmington, Mo.; one brother, Chester Lee of Anchorage, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating.

Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
