Cotner, Glenda C. (nee Pulliam)

Glenda C. Cotner, 88, of Jackson passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Monticello House in Jackson, where she had resided since February 2012.

She was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Millersville, daughter of John and Fronia Looney Pulliam.

Glenda's employment included the former Jackson Hosiery Mill for 17 years; the former Florsheim Shoe Factory in Jackson; working as a cook on a river boat; and 16 years at Six Flags Over Mid-America in St. Louis.

She was a life member of Jackson Eastern Star, a former member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Washington, Mo.

Loving survivors include three sons, Jimmie E. (Mary) Cotner of Bowling Green, Mo.; David (Sue) Cotner of Rogue River, Ore,; and Roger D. Cotner of Gerald, Mo.; two daughters, Wilma (Brad) Cheatham of Murphysboro, Ill., and Margaret (Darrel) Friese of Jackson; a sister, Mildred Fann of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Delbert and Eddie Cotner; a great-grandson, Jonathan; her former husband, Dewy Cotner; four brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to time of service Monday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice.
