Crader, Lender "Frog"

Lender "Frog" Crader, 75, of Whitewater passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 12, 1934, in Whitewater, son of Alva and Minnie Nance Crader. He and Patricia Dumey were married June 25, 1960.

Frog enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 4, 1954, and was honorably discharged May 31, 1962.

He had worked on a riverboat as a cook and deckhand 10 years, and was in the farming industry 33 years, being owner/manager of Crader Farms in Whitewater.

Frog was a former member of Cape County Coon Hunters Association, current member of SEMO Fair Board, Whitewater Co-op and MFA and was a member of TPA since 1973.

He was a member of Notre Dame and Oran high school booster clubs, being a strong supporter of Notre Dame, Oran and Delta high schools' athletic programs. He enjoyed riverboat gaming. Frog was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, Mo.

Loving survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kim (the late Bob) St. Cin of Oran, Mo., Heather (Andy) Elfrink of Leopold; three grandchildren, Tori and Trenton St. Cin, Shandy Elfrink; a sister, Redia Sebastian of Tilsit; a brother, Lynn (Bev) Crader of Nashville, Tenn.; and his "adopted families," the Nussbaums, Horns, Seyers, Diebolds and St. Cins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Notre Dame Booster Club/Bus Fund or St. John's Cemetery Fund.
