Craig, Farrell (nee Cronenbold)
Farrell Lufcy Craig, 93, of Scott City passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 14, 1916, in Vanduser, Mo., the sixth of eight children to Charles C. and Susia Williams Cronenbold. She and Norman Lufcy were married March 31, 1934, at the courthouse in Benton, Mo.
The Lufcys made their home in Cape Girardeau and had two children. During World War II they both worked at the former White Cross in Cape Girardeau. Farrell then worked 32 years at the former Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau, and Norman retired from the former Marquette Cement Plant in Cape Girardeau. They had been married 47 years when Norman passed away May 30, 1981.
Farrell's favorite pastimes were sewing, crocheting and dancing; and in 1990 she and Ivan Craig became acquainted at the former Stroder Country in Jackson. They were married June 29, 1990, and resided near Scott City. They were of the Baptist belief and enjoyed attending services at Friendship Baptist Church in Dongola, near Advance, Mo., and Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Loving survivors include her husband, Ivan Craig of Cape Girardeau; a son, Jon (Shirley) Lufcy of Scott City; a daughter, Darlene (Rulen) Spies of Greenville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Norman (Tina) Spies of Scott City, Elizabeth (Paul) Hanner of El Paso, Texas, Jill (Craig) Goodson of Jackson; five great-grandchildren; Ryan and Collin Lyle of El Paso, Layne and Hayley Spies of Scott City, Kinsey Goodson of Jackson; a sister, Ruby Niswonger (Charles) Matthews of Cape Girardeau; and a sister-in-law, Erthel Jenkins of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, Mike (Sue) Craig of Jackson, Susan Ramsey of Cape Girardeau; three stepgrandchildren, Michael Craig of Jackson; Ronda (Tim) St. Arbor of Barlow, Ky., Vickie (John) Slayton of Canalou, Mo.; and four great-stepgrandchildren, Steven, Robbie, Jonathan and Jason Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and six siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Pallbearers will be Mike Craig, Michael Craig, Chuck Childers, Jeff Cronenbold, Rulen Spies and Norman Spies.
