Crissey, Richard C.

Funeral services for Richard C. Crissey, 60, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

Mr. Crissey passed away Nov. 12, 2008, at Mary Mount Hospital in Garfield Heights.

He was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Shade Township, Pa.

He enjoyed playing golf, muscle cars and woodworking. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a rifleman and received the Marksmanship Award with M14, M16 and was also a Purple Heart Recipient. Richard loved being a husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Crissey was a retired inspector from LTV Steel.

Survivors are his wife, Debbie Crissey of Perry; sons, Travis (Amy) Whitehair of Painesville and Jason (Natalie) Harman of Perry; daughter, Brandy Crissey of Baltimore, Md.; brothers, Roger (Norma) Crissey and Robert (Judy) Crissey; sisters, Sandra (David) Phipps, Evelyn (Jim) Barnes, Judy (Steve) Kangas and Erma Swartzelder; grandchildren, Alex, Jason Jr., Brandon, Brooke and Brianna; sisters-in-law, Sue and Betty Crissey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester C. and Effie (Manges) Crissey; sister, Shirley (Robert) Jones; brothers, Kenneth and Russell Crissey; and brother-in-law, Lou Swartzelder.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halstead St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60642-2642.
