Davenport, Mabel M. (nee Stroder)

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mabel M. Davenport, 86, of Marble Hill passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Monticello House in Jackson.

The daughter of Sterling and Emma Crader Stroder, Mabel was born March 1, 1918, in the Hickory Grove community in Cape Girardeau County.

She worked at the former Litz Poultry and 15 years at Ceramo Inc., retiring in 1985. She was a former member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Ruth Davenport of Marble Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Clifford Bollinger of Cape Girardeau, Frances and Larry Cutright of Marble Hill.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Randy Bollinger, wife Sue, children Brandon and Austin of St. Louis; Todd Gohn, wife Beth, children Autumn and Jeremiah of Hawaii; Traci Gohn, daughter Kelsey Mauk of Memphis, Tenn.; and Jeri Lyn Hoxworth of Jackson.

Mabel was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Crader Cemetery in Bollinger County.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gravel Hill United Methodist Church.
