PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Luella M. Degenhardt, 87, of Perryville died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Independence Care Center of Perry County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery...

Luella M. Degenhardt, 87, of Perryville died May 5, 2014 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born September 13, 1926 in Apple Creek, MO, daughter of William J. and Clara T. (Trapp) Ponder. She and Leonard Erwin “Pete” Degenhardt were married October 5, 1949. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1995.
Luella had worked at International Shoe Company. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and AmVets Auxiliary.
Other survivors include one brother and one sister; Martin Ponder of Fenton and Antonia Naumann of Blackwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son; Erwin Henry Degenhardt, five brothers; William H., Raymond, Anton, Rudolph and Cletus Ponder, two sisters; Leona Meyer, Mary Robinson and twin sister; Marcella Ponder.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at Young & Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, May 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 am. Funeral Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday at 10:00 am with Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in Church Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School.
