Delph, Nola A. (nee Gilliland)

JACKSON, Mo. -- Nola Delph, 97, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born April 23, 1904, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of John A. and Sarah K. Welker Gilliland.

She and Lynn Franklin "Frank" Delph were married April 28, 1924. He died Jan. 18, 1994.

She was a longtime member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson. Delph was also formerly active in the ladies auxiliary and taught Sunday school.

In earlier years, Delph worked at the former Nelson Farm Produce and Supplies in Millersville, Mo., the former poultry plants in Jackson, Cape Girardeau and Perryville, Mo., and the former Turley's Cleaners in Jackson. She taught school for one year at Farrar.

Survivors include Richard Welker of Chaffee, Mo., and Genevieve Gribler of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and after 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery
